Sears Holdings Corporation Wins 2011 Distinguished Project Award from PMI®

Métier, The PPM (News - Alert) Company, is extremely honored to announce that Sears Holdings is the recipient of the 2011 Distinguished Project Award from the Project Management Institute (PMI®). PMI is the leading global membership organization for project managers. The purpose of this award is to recognize and honor successful projects that have promoted project management concepts, techniques, practices or theories through the effective application of project management principles. This is only the third Distinguished Project Award given to recognize a successful PPM software implementation initiative in PMI history, and only the 11^th award distributed since 2006.

The Business Management System (BMS) V2.0 Transformation program is a remarkable achievement for Sears Holdings and Métier. The company established the BMS V2.0 Transformation program in March 2010. The program was led by the Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) at Sears Holdings with Métier PPM consultants. The primary objectives of the program were to complete a successful migration from one PPM tool to Métier's software solution and increase the maturity of project, program and portfolio management across the Sears Holdings enterprise.

The intensive, year-long program enabled Sears Holdings to transform the organization to become more agile and to achieve higher levels of portfolio, program and project management maturity based on PMI standards. The program was executed within cost, on schedule and with more scope than originally planned. Much of the success of the project was attributed to the strong commitment and execution of communications management across the enterprise.
