Scriptel Corporation Announces Expanded Sign and Save Software for Windows, Mac, and Linux Operating Systems

COLUMBUS, Ohio --(Business Wire)--

Scriptel® Corporation (Scriptel), a leading provider of electronic signature capture solutions and devices, today announced a hugely expanded version of their free-to-download Sign and Save software. This allows users signing with any ScripTouch® electronic signature pad to easily add authentic handwritten signatures to their Word, Excel®, Writer, Calc and PDF documents directly inside Microsoft (News - Alert)® Office, OpenOffice™, LibreOffice® or Adobe® Acrobat® software (including Adobe Reader® 11 and Adobe (News - Alert) EchoSign® eSignature services). Users can also generally capture signatures as high-quality images and data files for insertion in any other document type using Sign and Save as a standalone application.

Administrators can control display and signing preferences, while developers and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) can avoid developing their own signature rendering windows and event handling code by taking advantage of Sign and Save using a Command Line Interface (CLI). With the CLI, the "signing window" user options can be fully customized and the steps to capture a signature as an image and as data can be automated.

In additon to Windows®, Sign and Save can now be used on Mac® and Linux® operating systems. Sign and Save support is extended to all of the ScripTouch signature pads, including those with Scriptel's EasyScript interface.

"Supporting all of our devices in all operating systems with a consistent set of end-user software tools has been an important goal for us over the past twelve months," said Wayne Barthel, Scriptel's CEO. "Now, any place a Scriptel signature pad is installed, even if it was purchased for a very specific digital workflow application, the users have a free software application to use signatures in the most popular standard office productivity applications. To be able to structure this so that developers and ISVs could take advantage of the Sign and Save interface as a component in their own applications is icing on the cake."

With this release, a simple and free tool for signature capture is now available for all ScripTouch signature pads on all major operating systems and in the dominant office productivity applications and in a form that can also be used by developers.

Additionally, support has been added for saving signing preferences so signatures use consistent properties across applications that use Sign and Save software. Signatures can also be saved now in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) image format and in Comma Separated Value (CSV) data format which is useful for biometrics or forensic examination.
