Science Exchange Joins Accenture's INTIENT Network for Research to Help Boost R&D Productivity in Drug Discovery and Development

Science Exchange, the SaaS (News - Alert)-enabled marketplace for outsourced R&D, has joined the Accenture INTIENT Network for Research, which enables software technology and content suppliers and life sciences companies to work together more effectively to help accelerate drug discovery efforts and improve patient outcomes.

The INTIENT Network for Research is an integral part of Accenture's (News - Alert) cloud-based informatics research platform, which has been designed to help life sciences organizations improve productivity, efficiency and innovation in drug discovery. Accenture is currently working with a select number of technology and content providers - including Science Exchange - to integrate their software and content into Accenture's research platform. This will allow life sciences companies to give their researchers easier access to innovative capabilities, such as Science Exchange's network of pre-qualified R&D service providers, as well as their software solutions for automated contracting, compliance, project management, file management, payment processing, and reporting.

The demand for R&D services is growing, because biotech and pharma organizations must access novel, specialized technologies to harness the power of new therapeutic modalities," said Elizabeth Iorns, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder of Science Exchange. "However, most R&D organizations cannot afford to incur risk or delay studies by having to vet new technology providers. Science Exchange's SaaS-enabled marketplace for R&D services, through the INTIENT network, can help R&D organizations maintain speed, flexibility, and compliance."

Science Exchange's capabilities will be available to life sciences companies within a common informatics framework that handles core infrastructure requirements such as data ingestion and cleansing, security and IP management, request management workflow, enterprise search, data governance, and collaboration environments.

"Our open partner network is one of the ways we're helping our clients implement innovative capabilities faster through the Accenture INTIENT platform," said Joe Donahue, Managing Director, Accenture Life Sciences. "We welcome Science Exchange to the INTIENT Network for Research with their ability to help our mutual clients rapidly find and create new partnerships and lessen the complexity associated with sourcing, establishing and managing service provider contracts."
