SCF Arizona Selects Rising Medical Solutions to Lead Medical Bill Review Process

Apr 13, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- An Arizona provider of workers' compensation insurance, SCF Arizona, has signed an agreement with Rising Medical Solutions (Rising), a medical bill review and medical cost containment company, to administer its bill repricing process.

SCF Arizona, the Arizona State Compensation Fund, is transitioning from an in-house software model to an outsourced, service provider model, the Company said. It's a move that makes sense for SCF as it evolves into a privatized, mutual insurance company.

"We see Rising's technology and flexibility as keys to helping us streamline processes and reduce costs from an operational and a medical expense perspective," says Ginny Arnett Caro, SCF Vice President of Claims Services. "Rising's product scope and multi-jurisdictional bill review expertise will allow SCF to focus on our core business, particularly as we grow in other states." Growth is something both organizations have in common, with Rising looking to round out its existing West Coast presence. "Our new relationship with SCF makes some of our expansion decisions easy," says Jason Beans, Rising CEO. "We'll be opening a new office in the Phoenix area and it's a development we're extremely excited about." SCF echoes that sentiment: "We welcome Rising to our backyard. This is a big change for us and they've made us feel comfortable," says Jim Stabler, SCF Vice President, Legal and Chief Counsel. "Ultimately, our decision was based on Rising's ability to demonstrate the benefits and ROI of their outsourced model, as well as Rising's customer service, people and culture." "Much of what makes our relationship work is that people-culture fit," says John Mitchell, Rising Vice President of Sales. "It's hard to find but, when you do, customer goals can be accomplished much more rapidly."
