Savvis releases Symphony Cloud Storage

Dec 03, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) company Savvis has made a limited release of its Symphony Cloud Storage, which combines global accessibility and unlimited capacity with the reliability and protection businesses demand.

While any business can access Symphony Cloud Storage over the public Internet, existing clients who use the CenturyLink private network will not pay data transfer fees when downloading data. In addition, Savvis clients that host or colocate in a cloud storage-enabled data centre do not pay transfer fees to move data between their cloud storage and infrastructure.

Built on the widely used EMC Atmos(R) platform and compatible with the EMC Atmos API framework, Symphony Cloud Storage allows users to integrate solutions from vendors already utilizing EMC technologies.

Accessible from anywhere in the world, Savvis' cloud storage is hosted in data centers in London, Singapore, Toronto, Washington, D.C., and Santa Clara, Calif.

Symphony Cloud Storage currently is open to a limited number of Savvis clients, with full commercial availability in early 2013 CenturyLink is the third largest telecommunications company in the United States. For more information, visit www.savvis.com or www.centurylink.com.
