In a nifty bit of headhunting German software giant SAP AG is announcing it has attracted the talents of senior executives formerly employed by competitors, including Oracle, PeopleSoft, Siebel Systems and BEA Systems.
Its a pretty big statement in Silicon Valley, as SAPs never been known for targeting top executives, preferring to nick sales and marketing talent.
AMR Research Analyst Bruce Richardson tells Matt Hines that SAP is building a "war chest of talent" in Silicon Valley, much in the same manner that software giant Microsoft was aggressively recruiting database expertise to its Redmond, Wash., headquarters several years ago, Hines reports.
Many industry analysts expect some of the the new hires key clients to migrate to SAP as well.
Among these new SAP employees are key development and marketing executives that have joined the Product & Technology Group managed by Shai Agassi, a member of the Executive Board, SAP AG and a rising star in software.
