SANS Institute to Host Information Security Training in Denver, Colorado

BETHESDA, Md., April 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced its return to Denver with the SANS Rocky Mountain 2015 cyber security training event taking place June 22-27. SANS Rocky Mountain offers hands-on immersion-style security training for those new to information security as well as seasoned security professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a number of courses covering security fundamentals, hacking techniques and tools, network penetration, intrusion detection and much more.

All courses offered at SANS Rocky Mountain are designed to prepare students for DoDD 8570 and GIAC certification exams. For those needing training for the CISSP exam®, the accelerated review course, SANS MGT414: SANS Training Program for CISSP Certification®, has been specifically updated to prepare students to pass the new version of the CISSP exam that went live on April 15, 2015. Also included among the courses offered is SANS' flagship penetration course SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking and the popular SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling course.

SANS Rocky Mountain will also feature a number of bonus evening sessions including the much requested Jailbreak/Root Workshop for Mobile Devices taught by SANS instructor, Chris Crowley. To help students understand the methods available for unresricting mobile devices, attendees will have the opportunity to jailbreak and root devices. An unrestricted device is useful for application assessments and pen testing.

"Effectively assessing and diminishing the risk associated with mobile devices and the applications running on them is a daunting task. This workshop will provide a self-directed but guided experience in using available root and jailbreak tools. Jailbreaking can be frustrating and challenging but is ultimately rewarding with a device that gives greater insight into the platform. Many participants in SEC575: Mobile Device Security and Ethical Hacking have asked for hands-on with devices. This workshop is the outcome of those requests. Bring a device, let's see what you can do," stated Chris Crowley, SANS Certified Instructor.
