Sample Group, Intel Joined Hands to Set up RFID R&D Center

(SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, Jan 25, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --China's Sample Group, a private company, formed a strategic partnership with the world chip-making giant Intel to establish Intel's only RFID research and development center in Asia Pacific region.



The RFID research and development center will mainly engage in research and promotion of RFID industry application solutions such as intelligent communication management system, aviation luggage management system, warehouse management system and container positioning management system.

A RFID system, or Radio Frequency Identification system, consists of an electronic tag and a reader, which also can be called transponder and interrogator.



Established in 1993, Sample Group was the first private joint-equity hi-tech firm in Nanjing, and its unit Nanjing Sample Technology Co. Ltd. went public on growth enterprise board of Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK).

Separately, the group brought in CNY 2.1 billiion sales in 2004.
