SAIC to provide network support services for US Army

Nov 14, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
Science Applications International Corp has won a three-year $24m contract from the US Army's Office of the Project Manager to provide network planning and software support services.

The company will assist the Army in the production and deployment of the system, as well as provide training and help-desk services. It will also provide post-deployment/production software, logistics, and engineering support. Work will be undertaken primarily in San Diego, California.

Peter Dube, senior vice president and business unit general manager at SAIC, said: "SAIC's continued work on the JNMS program is a prime example of our ability to deliver world-class command, control, and communications systems using our certified CMMI Level 5 systems and software engineering and integration processes. We look forward to helping enhance JNMS capabilities and support in a range of areas including logistics, training, and documentation."

Last month, the company won a four-year $37m contract from the US Army to provide engineering support services for its Biometrics Automated Toolset-Army, BAT-A, system. In September, it won two five-year contracts worth a total of $160m from the US Army Aviation and Missile Command to provide modeling and simulation support to the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center, Systems Simulation and Development Directorate.
