Rumble Appoints Former Discovery Communications SVP and GM of AOL Video as Chief Operating Officer

Rumble, a full-service video platform that connects creators, publishers and brands, today announced the appointment of digital media veteran Miguel Monteverde as its chief operating officer. With more than 20 years of experience, Monteverde will oversee Rumble's day-to-day operations, including securing and managing media partnerships for the company.

Monteverde joins Rumble as it closes its most successful year, achieving more than 300% growth in 2017. Monteverde's new role will be instrumental in helping further scale the company's operations as it is poised for increased growth and innovation in 2018.

"With decades of industry experience and entrepreneurial drive, Miguel is a proven leader," said Chris Pavlovski, founder and chief executive officer of Rumble. "This is a critical time for big media and digital publishers who are trying to grow profitable video businesses online. The Rumble platform has always provided a compelling solution for these companies and with Miguel now on board, we are even better equipped to help them grow their video revenue."

Based in Washington, D.C., Monteerde is a founder and principal at Green Mountain Advisors, a consulting firm for early-stage companies. He also serves as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, working with student founded start-ups. Monteverde was most recently a senior vice president of digital media at Discovery Communications, and led Discovery's video streaming services for nine U.S. networks, including Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and Investigation Discovery. Prior to joining Discovery in 2008, Monteverde spent more than ten years at AOL (News - Alert) in a variety of programming and business roles, including serving as general manager of AOL Video.

"Rumble has the solution for a problem that has plagued big media since I began my career in this industry in 1995: how to build a profitable, ad-supported media business on the internet," said Monteverde. "As someone who has spent nearly two decades trying to do just that, I'm excited to be joining Rumble at such a vital time, particularly with so many publishers investing heavily in video. I look forward to evangelizing the Rumble platform and to getting more media companies onboard with us so they can grow their online video profits."

Monteverde is a three-time Webby Award winner, and was a finalist in 2014 for a Primetime Emmy for Creative Achievement in Interactive Media, as executive producer of Animal Planet's Whale Wars: Blood and Water. A former Army officer, Monteverde is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
