for Laptops
(M2 PressWIRE Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
RDATE:31082007
Dublin - Research and Markets
(http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c66886) has announced the
addition of 3G Wireless Broadband for Laptops to their offering
HSDPA and EVDO networks have now been widely deployed globally. As with
initial 3G launches these networks are first being used to deliver
wireless broadband via data cards- initially targeted at the
enterprise. Yet unlike previous technologies, the technologies are
providing a user experience which lives up to the marketing.
These services are mobilising workers with speedy connection to a VPN,
email, applications and the Internet. The two largest drivers for
take-up are simple and affordable pricing and ADSL-like speeds.
At this stage take-up is strongest in white- collar and SME segments,
but we are sceptical about broader take-up in the grey- or blue-collar
segment unless current prices fall. In this report, Report looks at
operator strategies and market trends in the delivery of 3G wireless
broadband to laptops.
