ResCare Names Jon B. Rousseau President and CEO

ResCare, Inc., the nation's largest private provider of services to people with disabilities, the largest one-stop workforce contractor and the largest privately-owned home care company, announced today that it has named Jon B. Rousseau president and chief executive officer. Mr. Rousseau joins ResCare with a distinguished career as a senior health care executive. He brings to his new role a demonstrated track record of success from multiple leading Fortune 500 health care companies, as well as a background in private equity and investment banking. Mr. Rousseau will succeed ResCare's retiring CEO Ralph Gronefeld, Jr., who has dedicated 21 years of service to the company and will serve as interim president of the Residential Services segment until June 30, 2017.

Most recently, Mr. Rousseau served as executive vice president of Kindred Healthcare and president of Kindred Rehabilitation Services, the largest diversified rehabilitation services company in the U.S. by sites of service. Prior to that, he was president of the Care Management Division and Kindred At Home, Kindred's home health, hospice, home care and home-based primary care businesses. Before his employment with Kindred, Mr. Rousseau held a number of senior leadership positions at other market-leading health care companies, including vice president of global marketing, strategy and commercial development for Mylan and global senior director of the continuous glucose monitoring franchise with Medtronic. For the first part of his career, Mr. Rousseau worked at Friedman Fleischer & Lowe, LLC, a leading private equity firm, and at Morgan Stanley in investment banking, with a focus on merers and acquisitions. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and his A.B. degree from Princeton University.

"Jon Rousseau is a proven leader who brings a wealth of experience across health care sectors and disciplines. In partnership with the company's leadership team, local management and direct service providers and care professionals, he will advance ResCare's mission to provide high quality and respectful care for the company's clients and help them achieve their highest level of independence," said James Bloem, chairman of the ResCare board of directors.

Robert Le Blanc, senior managing director of Onex Corporation, added, "With Jon's leadership, ResCare will strive for innovation, continuous improvement and growth, in an effort to deliver maximum value to the company's payers and clients. We sincerely thank Ralph for the many contributions over his tenure and have full confidence that Jon will position ResCare for sustained success."

"I am excited to join the ResCare organization and extend the company's long-standing commitment to deliver high quality service and care," said Mr. Rousseau. "The markets and populations that the company serves are critical ones in society and characterized by unmet and increasing demand. Few organizations can match the breadth and depth of ResCare's services, which provide clear value to states, health plans, clients and their families. I look forward to working with my new colleagues at ResCare to position the company for the next phase of its growth as a leader in service excellence and innovative care for the people it supports."
