RelayHealth Named a Leader in Clinical Data Exchange by IDC

RelayHealth today announced that it has been named a leader in clinical data exchange in the IDC (News - Alert) MarketScape report, U.S. Health Information Exchange Packaged Solutions 2015 Vendor Assessment. Representing the largest market share, RelayHealth was noted for its scalability and ease of integration. In the report, the IDC states that "… a key differentiator is that RelayHealth is delivered as a true single-instance multitenant SaaS (News - Alert) solution. RelayHealth has an extensive library of terminology-mapping templates covering more than 250 different healthcare IT systems, representing the leading EHRs used by more than 85% of all clinicians."1

RelayHealth manages 2.8 billion clinical transactions each year for over 78 million patients and connects to more than 58,000 providers across 19,000 practices. Additionally, RelayHealth is proud to have been selected by CommonWell Health Alliance® and its members to provide identity management, record locator, consent management, and trusted data access services to enable nationwide interoperability. CommonWell represents 70% of the acute EHR market2 and 24% of the ambulatory EHR market3, and as noted in the IDC MarketScape report, this provides "a strong validation point to the strength and scalability of the RelayHealth platform."1

Health systems echo the value of the RelayHealth platform and view the company as a strategic partner for the future. "We chose RelayHealth because we had a number of physicians and practices already using electronic health records, and RelayHealth allowed us to connect data across all those healthcare settings," said Liz Lorenzi, vice president and chief operating officer of Community Health Innovations, which coordinats integrated population management and patient-centered medical home strategies in Monterey, California. "The exchange of health information was critical to our strategic shift to population health management."

Ken Tarkoff, senior vice president and general manager of RelayHealth, remarked, "We know that data acquisition at the breadth and pace of our customers' business requirements is hard - in fact, we live it alongside them every day. As our customers evolve to value-based models, accessing complete clinical data is paramount to informed decision-making. We are excited to be recognized as a leader by the IDC and as a key partner in helping our customers deliver upon their strategic objectives."
