Record Number Of Home Workers Sees Rise In Home Offices

(Cision Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The number of people working from home in the UK is at the highest level since records began, with home workers accounting for 13.9% of the workforce. The Office for National Statistics states there were 4.2 million people working from home in the first three months of 2014, with 63% claiming to be self-employed and 34% working for an organisation. The home office is on the rise and something Britain could see more of in future years as businesses adapt to this style of working.

With a large proportion of the British workforce now in need of a suitable office space within the home, London based Empatika is well positioned to create bespoke, custom fitted furniture.  The eco furniture company specialises in designing practical and stylish spaces, with bespoke bookcases, workstations, shelving and cupboards all catered for to create the ideal home working environment.

Tristan Titeux, Director of Empatika, said, “With a record number of Brits working from home, we’re here to emphasise the importance of creating a well-designed, efficient space to work in.  Busy Londoners can often get distracted during work tasks in the home, but by implementing a proper home office, home workers can be focused, more productive and improve their overall wellbeing.

“Whether you just need a built-in computer desk or would like an entire room overhaul, Empatika are well experienced in designing and fitting home offices and can advise home workers of the right option for them. People are transforming lofts, spare bedrooms and even sheds and outhouses into offices, studios and other work spaces – trust a respected company like us to deliver contemporary, bespoke furniture to make your space more useful and clutter-free.” The majority of people who regularly or permanently work from home are self-employed, which means they run their own businesses entirely from a home office. Company directors, freelancers or other self-employed workers need to be highly organised and work long hours in order to run their business effectively, further emphasising the need for an efficient work space.  Students also need a suitable place to study and read, as on average university students only have 14 hours of contact time per week on campus.

Mr Titeux continued, “The benefits of a good home office are obvious, but it really pays to get professional help from people who can tailor the room to your specific needs.  We’ve been designing and fitting home offices for over a decade in all areas of London, and we specialise in contemporary storage solutions for every need – you can trust us to deliver.” To find out more about Empatika and its eco-friendly custom furniture options visit www.empatika.uk/.
