RCC to offer seminar on websites [The Laurinburg Exchange, N.C.](Laurinburg Exchange, The (NC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Sept. 13--LAURINBURG -- Marketing expert Martin Brossman will conduct a free workshop on building a website from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Honeycutt Center in Laurinburg. The seminar, which is being offered by the Small Business Center of Richmond Community College, will explain the basics of securing a domain name, choosing a graphics theme and step-by-step guidance for building a site. Attendees will have access to instructional videos to support and add to the seminar instruction, and will also receive a list of recommended themes, plug-ins and widgets that allow them to customize and enhance a WordPress website. WordPress is the leading open-source (free) content management platform that is both a website and blog. It enables the user to insert original content and make ongoing changes to the content. "This is a results-driven class that has produced excellent results," Brossman said. "We will show you how to build a website that attracts the right customers and allows for maximum expansion over time as your business grows. For under $100 a year you can have a professional website using the user-friendly web software of WordPress. We will show you how to make your site easy for Google to find with the goal of connecting your business with the right customers."
