Title: Strong and Flexible Chip-to-Cloud Security for IoT

Speaker: Steve Singer, senior director of field applications engineering, Rambus Inc.

Securing the Internet of Things (IoT) is a daunting task due to the cost restrictions and fractured nature of the ecosystem. Any set of solutions needs to be flexible and easy to implement while securing against a wide array of attacks. Steve will explore the challenges associated with securing IoT devices and services from a holistic perspective. He will also discuss potential methods for plugging the security gaps, from a hardware root of trust, to key provisioning, to security-as-a-service, to device monitoring.

Steve Singer is an expert in embedded security with experience encompassing the protection of semiconductors, mobile devices, networking equipment and the IoT. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in computer engineering from Northeastern University (News - Alert). Steve began his career at SafeNet in 2001 as a staff ASIC design engineer, where he worked on a team responsible for building leading-edge security processors. He now directs a global team of field application engineers in the Cryptography group of the Rambus Security Division and is responsible for technical field support in North America.
