Radisys and Net2Phone Announce Ongoing Upgrade Strategy for Net2Phone's Media Server Network

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 10 February 2012 Release date- 09022012 - HILLSBORO, OR, U.S. - Radisys Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions, and Net2Phone, a global provider of telephony solutions and technologies, today announced an ongoing upgrade strategy for Net2Phone's media server network.

The Net2Phone network is being upgraded to Radisys next-generation IP media servers, providing Net2Phone with a future-proof, standards-based solution that will enable them to continue to deliver economical services to their end customers. The partnership also validates the long-term benefits of Radisys' next-generation IP media server product strategy.

'Over the years, Net2Phone has been extremely satisfied with Radisys' media server product capabilities, value, high-quality and top-notch customer support,' said Thom Jordan, President, Net2Phone Cable Telephony, LLC. 'As a result, we are confident in our continued partnership with Radisys to upgrade our current media server infrastructure to a distributed network of Radisys CMS-3000 media servers.' Net2Phone is a pioneer and early innovator in economical hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services in North America. In 2003, Net2Phone selected and deployed Radisys media servers to deliver the underlying IP-based media processing for a VoIP voicemail service. Net2phone developed their own voicemail application, which was integrated with Radisys media servers, providing Interactive Voice Response (IVR) feature control in multiple languages, audio recording and later playback for Net2Phone's hosted VoIP voicemail service deployment. This service is hosted by Net2Phone and provided to end consumers through a number of cable operators.

Consistent with the Radisys family of media servers, the CMS-3000 provides reliable, open platform architecture and standards-based interfaces for rapid deployment and integration. By retaining industry standard protocols across product generations, Radisys media servers maintain backward compatibility, allowing customers to upgrade their media server capabilities according to their unique timing and capability requirements.

'Radisys is a leading supplier of IP media servers, service delivery platforms and turnkey application software for next-generation network voice services,' said David Smith, vice president and general manager, media server business unit, Radisys. 'As exemplified through our long-standing relationship with Net2Phone, Radisys' seasoned engineers continue to demonstrate our commitment to developing superior products that enable our customers to provide reliable service to their end consumers.'
