Qwest establishes two year connection agreement with Minnesota Vikings

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
An exclusive two year agreement has been established by Qwest
Communications International Inc (NYSE:Q) (Qwest), a provider of
broadband, video and voice solutions, with the Minnesota Vikings in
order to connect the team's stadium, practice field and offices using
high-bandwidth data networking and Internet services.

Qwest said its Metro Optical Ethernet (QMOE) services will be used,
under the new contract, by the Vikings to connect the Metrodome, Winter
Park practice field and the team's marketing and sales offices. It
claimed the Vikings will benefit from Internet speeds of up to 100Mb/s,
maximising the user experience when players and staff access Qwest's
high-speed, secure, reliable network.

According to Qwest, the QMOE service combines Ethernet and optical

technologies across metropolitan area networks in order to offer
secure, scalable bandwidth at a low relative cost.

The company is the official communications provider of the Minnesota
Vikings and exclusive provider of high-speed Internet, DIRECTV service
and Qwest Digital Voice at the team's training facility.
