Colorful And Cheap
Price Chopper Supermarkets continues to expand its ink-jet cartridge refill program, now available in 75 of its stores, including seven stores in the Greater Hartford area: Bristol, Newington, Putnam Southington, Torrington, Vernon and Windsor. Refilling ink-jet cartridges costs about half the price of a new cartridge. Most brands of black or color cartridges are accepted at Price Chopper and refilled within 24 hours, said Mark Tremont, owner of I Fill Inkjets. Price Chopper partnered with I Fill Inkjets, an Albany, N.Y., business, four years ago. The company has saved more than 100,000 cartridges from local landfills and saved consumers about $1 million. More than 300 million cartridges are thrown away in the country every year. For more information, go to www.ifillinkjets.com.

Office workers planning to cut loose at the company's holiday bash may want to tone it down. Nine out of 10 executives say office party antics can affect your prospects for career advancement, according to a recent poll by The Creative Group. In fact, 44 percent of executives say holiday party behavior can greatly affect professional growth. "Although these gatherings can be festive, it's important to keep in mind that they are still work events. You want to exhibit poise and good judgment throughout, no matter how casual the celebration may seem," says Donna Farrugia, executive director of The Creative Group.
