Pure Storage Wins Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, Nov 12, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage array company, today announced it has been honored with the 2012 Best Practices Award from Frost & Sullivan. The global research and analysis firm crowned the Pure Storage FlashArray 2012's 'Most Innovative Enterprise Flash Storage Solution,' based on its research team's independent evaluation of flash storage vendors, in which they reviewed both all-flash and hybrid flash storage solutions. Frost & Sullivan's analysts selected FlashArray for its superior achievement and performance in technological innovation. Winners of the Frost & Sullivan 2012 Best Practices Awards were announced at the North American Excellence in Best Practices Awards Banquet on November 8th in San Antonio, Texas.

"Based on our research in the space, we believe Pure Storage is poised to disrupt the enterprise storage market due to its superior performance and resiliency, at a price point that is comparable to traditional disk arrays," said Siva Charan, Research Analyst, Frost & Sullivan. "Delivering up to 10 times more speed, reliability and efficiency, with game-changing affordability, it would be difficult for anyone to ignore the advantages of FlashArray. Based on our in-depth analysis of the enterprise flash storage solutions in North America, we are pleased to honor Pure Storage with the New Product Innovation Award for 2012." The Pure Storage FlashArray is the industry's first enterprise class all-flash storage array that is production-ready and delivers all the performance of flash at less than the price of disk (priced at $5-10/GB). FlashArray is 10x faster, 10x more space and power efficient, and radically simpler to manage, all at less than the price of performance disk. The Pure Storage FlashArray is ideal for high performance workloads, including server virtualization, desktop virtualization (VDI), database (OLTP, real-time analytics) and cloud computing.

The Frost & Sullivan award is just one of many recent accolades for Pure Storage and the FlashArray. The company was recently honored by the Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards, where FlashArray won in the Computing Systems category and was honored with the Silver award for overall innovation of the year.

"We are deeply honored for this recognition from Frost & Sullivan, which further validates that our unique approach to enterprise storage is delivering what the market is hungry for," said Scott Dietzen, CEO at Pure Storage. "We believe that flash memory, which has long been advancing consumer electronics, is now powering a new renaissance in business IT as well and are proud to be a pioneer in the effort." Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards Methodology The Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards identifies exemplary achievements within a multitude of industries and functional disciplines. The awards program is based entirely on the merit of the product, service, or technologies evaluated. Awards are applicable to all companies regardless of size, public or private status, or if they do business with Frost & Sullivan or not. The Frost & Sullivan analyst team identifies potential award nominees through a rigorous methodology, which is comprised of two phases of research. The first phase focuses on key industry challenges and the applicable measurements that address those challenges. The second phase, market research, is based on in-depth interviews with vendors, suppliers, and customers. Companies that are commended as Best Practices Award recipients demonstrate diligence, perseverance, and dedication as they excel in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.
