Proxsys Media Asset Management Integrates New Technology Partners

PARIS --(Business Wire)--

VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced video solutions, today announced the availability of new features supported in the latest Version 7.3 of Proxsys.

Visit VITEC at IBC Booth 7.G16 in Amsterdam RAI September 12-16 to learn more about Proxsys MAM.

Proxsys PX-Series media asset management system enables organizations to efficiently and securely edit, archive, and share valuable media assets both within an organization and with credentialed third parties. Within a smooth, user-friendly workflow, Proxsys PX-Series provides the functionality and features required to safeguard high and low resolution video as well as audio, graphic and data files.

For Live Production editing and archiving, a new Proxsys add-on for NewTek (News - Alert) Tricaster and 3Play is available. Recordings of clean feeds or program outputs can now be archived more efficiently. Data descriptions from live production are reused as metadata for search and management.

Proxsys NewTek Tricaster/3Play add-on offers the additional funcions of a fully integrated analysis tool highlighting easy to operate or expert operation modes, metadata support, content transfer by network or removable hard discs. A multi-feed ingest solution with broadcast quality also exports media for more resourceful cost-effective archiving of substantial video files.

Long term security and cost-effective archiving of massive video files is always a challenge. Digital LTO data tapes are low-cost and reliable but access speed is slow. Proxsys technology solves this gap by creating LowRes Proxy clips that live online for browsing. Integration of the Crossroad StrongBox tape control appliance Proxsys offers hierarchical storage by migrating files from spinning hard disk arrays to libraries and finally to offline tapes.

Proxsys Crossroads StrongBox Tape Control HSM provides a turnkey approach as the manufacturer is responsible for the complete integration, Linux Server OS and browser based UI for direct accessibility without installing client software, as well as intelligent stub file management.

"In keeping on top of the latest trends in video technology and media production, we are combining individual products to create more efficient workflows," said Norman Schlomka, Product Manager of MAM Solutions for VITEC. "By integrating popular established products to provide enhanced connectivity for the best user experience, Proxsys strengthens its leading position in the market."

Proxsys V7.3 is shipped internationally and available through the VITEC worldwide integrator network.
