Provision Healthcare Celebrates Construction of the Scott Hamilton Proton Therapy CenterConstruction has been underway at the Scott Hamilton Proton Therapy Center, which will deliver state-of-the-art cancer treatment to patients in Middle Tennessee and beyond. The two-story building includes three treatment rooms along with clinical and administrative office space. It is located on Carothers Parkway, which is a growing and developing healthcare hub in Franklin, Tennessee. The $99.6 million project is scheduled to treat the first patient in mid-2018. It is spearheaded by Provision Healthcare, a Knoxville-based developer of proton centers and comprehensive cancer centers with a focus on making proton therapy a clinical reality. The center will utilize Provision Healthcare's ProNova SC360 proton system. The first ProNova SC360 system will treat the first patient at the Provision Center for Proton Therapy in Knoxville, Tennessee later this year. Olympic figure skater and gold medalist, Scott Hamilton, is a resident of Franklin, a cancer survivor and patient advocate. He serves as a Provision board member and through his Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation funds cancer research and provides support and educational services for cancer patients and their families.
