Protection 1 Implements Cisco Meraki Technology to Upgrade its Telecommunications System using Its Newly Cisco Certified Internal Resources

Protection 1, the largest full-service business and home security company in the U.S., today announced the recent commencement of a self-performed project to upgrade its telecommunications system to the latest Cisco (News - Alert) Meraki technology, using its internal resources to design, implement and commission the system. Protection 1 operates a Network Operations Center (NOC (News - Alert)) out of its Integrated Systems Group which is staffed with highly experienced certified engineers capable of designing and provisioning broadband networks for its customers. These team members are Cisco Certified, Meraki Certified, and Sonicwall Certified experts who recently helped the NOC to earn Cisco Cloud and Managed Services Express Partner Certification. Protection 1 is the only security integrator to hold this designation.

Upgrading to the latest in cloud-based technology using internal resources was made ossible by the highly trained and highly skilled engineers on staff at Protection 1. This talented group of individuals designs, installs and commissions complex IT-sensitive networks for companies that either do not have the internal resources to accomplish the task or for those who want a dedicated security-only network.



Upon completion of the upgrade, Protection 1 will realize a considerable annual telecommunications cost savings of approximately 50%, increase available bandwidth by 1,000% and will have implemented a 4G fail-over back-up. Return on its investment is expected to be achieved in six months or less.
