Prompt.ly Launches Mobile App for the Consumer and Solopreneur

SAN FRANCISCO, June 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Prompt.ly launches the only mobile app combining scheduling, invoicing, payments and promotions in one simple mobile-first platform for solopreneurs, freelancers and independent service providers. It is available for both iOS and Android.

According to Mary Meeker, 34 percent of the US workforce (53 million people) are solopreneurs, which includes tutors, music instructors, sports coaches, dog walkers, massage therapists, locksmiths, tattoo artists, plumbers, painters, landscapers, personal trainers, graphic designers, photographers, nutritionists, family therapists, wedding planners and more. A former Wall Street securities analyst Meeker is a partner at the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

Prompt.ly was designed to meet the needs of consumers and the growing class of self-employed professionals who sell their time by the hour or session. Prompt.ly reduces the back-and-forth of booking by allowing users to send three options for their appointment. Either party can confirm, decline, reschedule or cancel without talking on the phone. Any changes are conveniently updated in both parties' calendars.

Prompt.ly Pay, the most recent feature, integrates payment processing and allows providers to accept credit cards at no cost; clients are happy to pay a small fee for the convenience of using their credit cards. Providers can also choose to split this fee or pay it themselves. It only takes a few taps to record payments collected without Prompt.ly Pay. Prompt.ly's two-click mobile invoicing will auto-fill with information stored inPrompt.ly appointments and providers can manually add things like materials, expenses, sub-contractors and more. The free version of Prompt.ly Promote enables solopreneurs to leverage their social networks to get more business via discounts and referrals using Facebook, email, and SMS.

"As a busy father, I wasn't enjoying managing the Solopreneurs in my life. Getting on the phone at the same time was nearly impossible, discussing how much I owed was awkward, and paying via cash or check was a nuisance. I thought - there must be a better way - so I searched and searched and was surprised with what I found. There were NO simple mobile-first solutions that integrated these features. And so, we founded Prompt.ly. Integrated scheduling, invoicing, social promotion and now payments on your smartphone," said Prompt.ly founder and CEO Richard Titus.

Prompt.ly users are often out and on the go. Like most Americans, even when they work in a fixed location they often prefer the convenience of their mobile device for access to the Internet and to manage their business. Prompt.ly differentiates itself from other stand-alone scheduling, invoicing, payments, and promotions tools by providing an integrated platform that's mobile-first. In fact, Prompt.ly is the only mobile-first solution that integrates all four functions. Moreover, while a well-known Pew Internet study says that 80% of US households have a computer, recent Prompt.ly focus groups found that more than 30% of attendees did not own a computer, yet 99% of those attending owned a smartphone.

Prompt.ly has grown exponentially since launching its MVP (minimum viable product) into public beta in December.  With over 25k downloads during beta the platform is now growing by thousands of users per month, with tens of thousands of appointments, invoices, promotions and now payments processed.
