Prince William County Welcomes Isomet Corporation

Prince William County is pleased to welcome Isomet Corporation (Isomet) as the newest addition to its thriving business community. The world renowned supplier of laser beam control devices decided to move its operations from Springfield, Va. to Prince William County after considering other options in Northern Virginia. The move will bring 21 full-time jobs and $2.3 million in capital investment to the county.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors approved an agreement between Isomet and the Industrial Development Authority of Prince William County and agreed to assign a $40,000 grant from the county's Economic Development Opportunity Fund to fund the purchase of new machinery and equipment for their operation.

"We are pleased to welcome Isomet to our growing cluster of technology companies here in Prince William County," said Corey A. Stewart, Chairman, Prince William Board of County Supervisors. "Being in existence for over 60 years is no small feat in any economy and they've done this while proving themselves to be a pioneer in their field! I am certain that their presence in the county will help to augment the profile of our local technology sector," he added.

We are delighted to call Prince William County our new home," said Sidney Neely, Chief Financial Officer at Isomet. "As we considered other locations across the region, the county's cost competitiveness, skilled workforce along with its pro-business environment presented a compelling value proposition. We look forward to being here for many years to come," he added.

Isomet's announcement comes on the heels of several notable high profile project wins for Prince William County including a major expansion by food distributing giant, US Foods, and the recently opened Iron Mountain (News - Alert) data center campus - the largest publicly disclosed, non-utility project announcement in te Commonwealth of Virginia in 2016.
