Prime Minister Explains, Ministerial Portfolios Distribution [Yemen Observer (Yemen)]


(Yemen Observer (Yemen) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) By Azzam Abdul-Aziz Prime Minister designate, Khalid Mahfouz Bahah, explained the distribution of ministerial portfolios on all political components, including Ansarallah, "the Houthis." The designate Prime Minister Bahah, said the consultations over the government formation proceeds at accelerating steps, and under follow up of the political components, to speed up sending their nominees so as to submit them to the President and the Prime Minister after the agreement on the distribution of the ministerial portfolios and the identification of their quotas. .



In a statement to the official news agency Saba, Bahah attributed the delay in announcement of the new government to the late agreement on the Prime Minister selection and the consensus on it by all the political spectrum, revealing the responsible spirit of all the political forces in their agreement over the distribution of the ministerial portfolios to the political components participating in the National Dialogue Conference, where the General People's Congress (GPC) and its alliances, will have nine ministerial portfolios, the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) and its partners will have 9 portfolios and six portfolios to the southern peaceful Hirak and six others to Ansarallah.

Meanwhile, the President will name the four sovereign portfolios of the Foreign Affairs, the Finance, the Defense and the Interior, explaining that this distribution was submitted as a recommendation from the President's advisors, where the political portfolios of each component were identified, apart from the four sovereign portfolios.


According to the schedule which Bahah published on the social network "face book" showing that the General People's Congress (GPC) participates with 9 portfolios, the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) also participates with 9 portfolios in addition to 12 portfolios equally distributed between the Hirak (southern movement) and the Houthis.

The GPC's share included the local Administration, Fishery, Information, Health, Youth and Sports, Human Rights and Tourism ministries in addition to two state ministries.

The JMP share included the following ministries,(the Planning and International Cooperation, Transport, Endowments and Guidance, Social Affairs and Labor, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Water and Environment, Expatriates' Affairs, the Parliament and Shora Council Affairs as well as a state Minister.) The southern Hirak in return obtained the following ministries: the Education Ministry, the Communication and Information Technology, the Public Work and Roads, the Trade and Industry, the Agriculture and the Legal Affairs.

Regarding Ansarallah, they are going to have the following ministries:- the Justice, the Electricity and Energy, the Civil Service and Insurance, the Oil and Mineral Resources, the Vocational and Technical Education as well as the Culture Ministry.

The remaining four sovereign Ministries will be the share of President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi. They are the Foreign, Finance, Defense and Interior Ministries.
