Powerwave globally expands with new manufacturing facility in Thailand

Nov 04, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Powerwave Technologies Inc (Nasdaq:PWAV), a provider of end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions, on Tuesday opened its newest manufacturing facility located in Laem Chabang in Chonburi Province, Thailand.



Powerwave said that it is the first full wireless manufacturing company of this type to be located in Thailand.

The new 135,000 square foot facility, which is expected to be operational by the end of this year, will initially employ 300 employees, with plans to employ approximately 500 employees by the end of 2010.


The factory will manufacture various products including Remote Radio Heads, Multi Carrier Power Amplifiers, Power Distribution Units and Repeaters, and will support Powerwave's repair activities in Asia.
