PowerGear Indoor Bridge Destroys Wireless Market

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- April 25, 2006 -- EnGenius Technologies, the leader in Service-Carrier Class wireless data communication equipment, will launch the world's longest range indoor client bridge at the Interop show in Las Vegas, virtually destroying the marketplace for all other standard wireless data equipment.

Part of the PowerGear line, the new ECB-3220 is a 802.11 b/g wireless client bridge and access point with 400 mW of output power, 4 times that of other equipment on the market today.

Featuring WEP and WPA/WPA2 security, SNMP for monitoring management, and a detachable antenna, the ECB-3220 is a fast-favorite with Broadband Wireless and Interop's WISP attendees. As a PoE-capable product, the ECB-3220 combines quick installation for service providers and ease-of-use for consumers.

With its core market based in providing large deployment to system integrators and WISPs, EnGenius' long range RF technology gives the PowerGear line of wireless data equipment range from four to ten times the coverage of standard consumer-level products.

"Offering a selection of products that provide durable, outdoor applications, great indoor solutions, detachable antennas and POE functionality makes EnGenius equipment the sought-after choice for wireless data deployments in large coverage areas or where a great deal of bandwidth is needed," says EnGenius' Senior Product Manager Herman Chang.

Also featured at this year's Interop - with a sneak preview at this week's Broadband Wireless World and showing at ISPCON - are EnGenius' outdoor solutions including their high-power wireless access point/bridges, EL-2611CB5 and EOC-3220. Both come equipped with a high-power 23dBm/26dBm radio, a 10/100Mbps Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) LAN port, a removable antenna, output power controllable, DHCP support, MAC address filtering, hide SSID broadcasts, Layer2 isolation, and the ability to do Point-to-Point (PtP - EOC-3220 only) and Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) wireless bridging connectivity.
