The 5th edition of the AT&T Film Awards, presented by AT&T Mobility & Entertainment in partnership with the submission management platform Submittable, is an open competition for imaginative, undiscovered short films from aspiring creators across the U.S.

Cash and prizes totaling $60,000 will be awarded in categories dedicated to filmmakers from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, youth creators ages 13-18, and innovative filmmaking tech, including films shot on mobile and VR/AR/MR projects.

There is no fee to submit. Films will be accepted through Dec. 7, 2018, or until 1,000 submissions are received.

"Submittable connects millions of storytellers with organizations looking for creative work," CEO Michael FitzGerald said. "The AT&T Film Awards is a great example of this. It offers filmmakers a unique way to gain exposure and financial support for their projects."

The grand prize winner will be invited to attend the 2019 filmmaking program at USC Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, meet with a CAA agent, and have their film air on DIRECTV in Latin America.
