Poetry reading set Thursday at Keystone

Oct 26, 2008 (The Times-Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Area poets David Elliott, Ph.D., Jane Honchell, Tom Blomain and Robert Dugan will present a selection of their best works during a poetry reading hosted by Keystone College's Nightshade Press on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Evans Hall at the college's Hibbard Campus Center.

Each year, Nightshade produces a selection of literary works by local, regional and nationally respected authors and poets.

Dr. Elliott, Factoryville, a professor of English at Keystone and director of the college's Honor's Program, will read from his Nightshade Press book, "Passing Through," and other selected poems.

Ms. Honchell, Clarks Summit, is an associate fine-arts professor at Keystone and directs the college's student theatrical productions. She will read selections from the recent Nightshade publication, "Five Poets," and other selected works.

Mr. Blomain will read from the Nightshade book, "Grey Area," and other selected works. Three of his poems were published in the book, "Palpable Clock," a 25th anniversary anthology published by the Mulberry Poets and Writers Association.

Mr. Dugan, Honesdale, Keystone's assistant professor of English and Nightshade Press' editor, also will read a selection of his works from "Five Poets" and other readings from the books "Lighthouse Keeper" and "Aphrodisiac." His work has been published in a variety of well-known literary publications, including "New York Quarterly" and "Main Street Rag."
