PM approves establishment of IMC tasked with monitoring and implementing GEO on corporate governance [Agerpres, Bucharest, Romania :: ]


(Agerpres (Romania) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) July 25--BUCHAREST -- Prime Minister Victor Ponta approved the establishment of the interministerial commission (IMC) for the monitoring and implementing of the provisions of GEO 109/2011 on the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises, according to a Prime Minister Decision released in the Official Journal on Friday.



The interministerial commission which will be in charge of monitoring and implementing the provisions of GEO 109/2011, approved on July 24, will be headed by the Prime Minister, acting as President of this body, with the Transports Minister holding the position of Vice President. The Prime Minister can be represented in the Commission meetings by a state adviser, appointed to this effect. Commission membership also includes the Public Finance Ministry, the Economy Ministry and the Information Society Ministry, as well as the Justice Ministry and the Department for Energy, the Government's Secretariat General and the Prime Minister's Chancellery.

The ministries mentioned in the Decision will be represented at the works of the commission at minister level or, based on the Prime Minister's approval, at level of Secretary of state, while central administration institutions will be represented by their leaders.


The commission has the mission to monitor, implement and assess the effects of enforcing the provisions of GEO 109/2011 on the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises, with the subsequent amendments and additions.
