PlanGraphics Releases Xmarc Version 7.1.2
(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) FRANKFORT, KY, October 8 / MARKET WIRE/ --
PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTCBB: PGRA) announced
that it has deployed version 7.1.2 of its Xmarc suite of "middleware" to
its European and Austral-Asia client base. Xmarc 7.1.2 introduces a wide
range of OGC-compliant enhancements and new functions responding to the
needs of present users, as well as providing foundational changes for new
users.
Many of these improvements are highly technical, benefiting both developers
as well as end-users. For example, version 6 of Xmarc introduced limited
XML facilities, which enabled Xmarc to read simple XML files with limited
validation. Although useful, it did not handle all XML constructs, and the
destination Fire classes (structures) had to be defined manually. Xmarc
7.1.2 introduces more comprehensive XML handling and facilitates easier
data import/export without having to worry about "messy" XML formatting.
The new version also aids beginners with an added command that enables
simple schemas to be created from a seed XML file without an in-depth
knowledge of the schema syntax.
In related news, the Company noted that a number of key users that have
recently extended their license agreements for the 2009 fiscal year include
the following:
-- The Port of Rotterdam, which uses Xmarc to share its AutoCAD databases
throughout the enterprise for port operations, container storage, and land
management.
-- UltraElectronics, which provides technical support for the British
Military Survey's extensive deployment of Xmarc
-- The Royal Bank of Scotland's Green Flag Division, which provides
roadside assistance (similar to the AAA in North America), to automobile
insurance policyholders. Through its call center, reliant on Xmarc for
geographic analysis and third party service providers, it handles some 1
million incidents each year.
Xmarc "middleware" provides interoperability and access to data from a
variety of sources and in a wide range of formats while leveraging the
spatial characteristics of those data sets.
