PierianDx Builds Leadership Team to Accommodate Fast Growth

PierianDx, the forerunner in clinical genomic informatics, announced today that healthcare entrepreneur Jim Howard is joining the executive team as Senior VP Sales. Howard is the first of several new leaders to join the bioinformatics company as it responds to the heightened demand for its next-generation sequencing platform.

One of Howard's top priorities is to build out the sales organization in order to better reach the growing number of hospital systems and academic medical centers that seek to improve patient care by managing their own diagnostic next-generation sequencing.

Howard brings with him sales leadership expertise and success with healthcare start-ups including Pharmacy OneSource (News - Alert), a clinical solution provider to hospitls, sold to Wolters Kluwer Health for $67 million. Most recently Howard served as VP, Sales in the Medical Systems group at CareFusion, a global medical device company sold to Becton, Dickinson & Co. for $12.2 billion. Howard currently serves on the board of St. Louis-based MagBiosense, an early-stage cardiac diagnostic device company.

"We are excited to have Jim and his strategic leadership on our team," said Ted Briscoe, PierianDx's CEO. "He will enable us to respond to the growing need of hospitals and academic medical centers who want to run, read and learn from their own next-generation sequencing tests."
