Picwing: Picwing Service Helps Busy Moms Keep the Grandparents Happy with Pictures.

San Francisco, CA, Jul 31, 2009 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Picwing has just launched a new service that has already found a following among busy moms looking for a dead simple way to print and mail their digital photos. Using Picwing, moms need only email their picture as an attachment to their own custom @picwing.com email address, and the Picwing service will automatically print and mail the pictures to the grandparents twice a month.

Moms feel good that they're keeping in touch with their parents, and the grandparents enjoy receiving photos of their grandkids in the mail regularly.

"With Picwing, I can be sure that my family back East receives photos of my new baby regularly. They couldn't be happier", says Jessica Livingston, a resident of Mountain View, CA and partner of the investment firm, YCombinator.

Cofounder Edward Kim states, "The service is particularly great for families who live far away from their parents and who may not use the internet to keep in touch with their parents. Moms can also use the service to send copies of their pictures to multiple addresses at once, for example, to the grandparents, the in-laws, and even themselves." Today's moms take hundreds of pictures of their infants or toddlers from their phone or camera. However, when times comes to mail the printed pictures to grandparents or in-laws, mom's oftentimes find printing pictures from the internet to be a tedious, multi-step process that involves copying pictures from the camera, selecting and uploading pictures to a website, and entering credit card and shipping address.

In stark contrast, many new parents have found that Picwing makes printing and mailing pictures so simple that they find themselves doing it much more often. Picwing, whose company mantra is "free your pictures", states, "Send any picture you want. Life is not just splendor and meticulous polish. We want you to share the everyday, the funny, the imperfect, the random, and all the little moments that make life so interesting." Picwing offers monthly plans starting at $4.95/month or pay-as-you-go plans starting at $0.19/print.

About Picwing Picwing is based in San Francisco, CA. The company was founded by Edward Kim and Enrique Rodriguez with an initial seed investment from YCombinator. The company statement is below.
