The Pickel Law Firm, Stamford, Sets Firm Record, Settling Six Lawsuits in One Week

The Pickel Law Firm, LLC, has set a new firm record for the number of cases resolved in just one week's time. The boutique firm of three attorneys brought six personal injury cases to resolution, all within Stamford.

Principal Alan Scott Pickel, Esq., said the accomplishment is notable because insurance companies vigorously defend smaller cases in an effort to dissuade lawyers and victims from pursuing them.

"We fight just as hard for large cases as small ones, despite the disincentive from insurance companies to not bring these cases to fruition," says Pickel. "It's a lot of work because insurance companies hire captured firms, paying them flat rates and salaries instead of an hourly rate. That means the insurance company's cost of litigating even small cases is very low. Fighting one more case doesn't incur any additional costs for them."

Of the six cases resolved, Pickel handled three of them personally including:

• Despite what should have been an easy resolution, an insurance company initiated a long, drawn out fight with a pedestrian who was hit by a car in July 2014. The case was finally resolved for the maximum $100,000 policy limit.
• A second $100,000 policy limit case was resolved after three and a hal years, in which the insurance company was contesting liability and damages for a victim who was driving his car which was sideswiped in 2011.
