Parasoft Joins Forces with Homeland Security Cyber Security Division Initiative [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Parasoft reported that during the AppSec Software Security Conference its partnership with the Software Assurance Marketplace (SWAMP), an initiative from the United States Department of Homeland Security's Cyber Security Division.

Parasoft is committed to helping SWAMP protect the nation's critical infrastructure by improving software used for essential functions, such as electrical power, gas and oil, and banking and finance. To help SWAMP achieve these goals, Parasoft is contributed its static code analysis capabilities, which include its Static Analysis Engine (SAE) for Java and C/C++, to SWAMP.

According to a company release, as part of Parasoft's Development Testing Platform (DTP) family of automated defect prevention and continuous testing solutions, SAE employs thousands of rules based on industry standards and best practices to identify potential risk at the code level. Parasoft SAE's rule set identifies security vulnerabilities, while helping organizations comply with known software quality guidelines, such as OWASP Top 10, CWE/SAN, FDA, MISRA, PCI DSS, and more.

"We're excited to be working with the SWAMP," said Arthur Hicken, Chief Evangelist at Parasoft. "It's a great opportunity for coders to improve their code security while vendors like Parasoft get great feedback on improving the state of the art in static analysis for security. Everyone wins." Parasoft has researched and developed software solutions that help organizations define and deliver defect-free software efficiently.
