Eagle Day The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hosts Eagle Day at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Over the last few years, bald eagle sightings have been on the rise at Lake Shelbyville. Park rangers will have spotting scopes and binoculars available so you can view the birds, including bald eagles and waterfowl migrating through the area. There also will be crafts and activities for children. The Illinois Raptor Center will be presenting a Birds of Prey program with live birds at 2 p.m. Call 217-774-3951, ext. 2, for more information.


Bicycle Dreams The award-winning feature-length documentary "Bicycle Dreams" about the Race Across America will premiere in Champaign-Urbana at The Art Theater in Champaign at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The film, which has won numerous film festival awards, documents the 2005 RAAM, when Illinois State University graduate Dr. Bob Breedlove was hit by a pickup truck in the mountains of Colorado and killed. Breedlove graduated from ISU in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in biology. Tickets are $11 in advance and $15 at the door. Order online at www.imathlete.com/events/bicycledreams. Decoy Show The 2012 Henry Decoy Show is today in Henry at the Henry-Senachwine High School on Illinois 29. The show features antique duck decoys, game calls and related collectibles from the area and out of state collectors, Hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission for adults is $5. There is no charge for children under 12. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee, desserts and soft drinks are available. Those attending can register to win a full size Perdew-style decoy by Charlie Moore. Free appraisals of old decoys and calls are also available. Lakeview Museum of Arts and Sciences from Peoria will have a display of some of the finest decoys from the Museum's permanent collection and the Midwest Decoy Collector's Association will have representatives there. The Charles Perdew Museum Association will have an informational booth inside the show entrance and the museum located on Front Street in Henry will be open to the public on that same day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

On track The Peoria Train Fair returns to the Illinois Central College campus Feb. 19. The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Sponsors are the Illinois Valley Model Railroad Club in Peoria and Pekin's River City Model Railroad Club. The clubs' fundraiser will feature operating layouts, swap meet tables, videos and more. Admission is $3 for adults. Kids, 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be available. The show features DVDs, videos, books, and photos, as well as many model railroad parts and supplies. Tables will highlight new and used Lionel, O, HO, N and Z items.
