Osceola Consulting Opens On-Shore Technology Delivery Center on Morongo Indian Reservation

CABAZON, Calif., Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Osceola Consulting CEO and founder Kevin Narcomey was joined today by California State Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (Coachella, 56th AD) and Morongo Band of Mission Indians Tribal Chairman Robert Martin to announce the opening of Osceola Consulting's Technology Delivery Center (TDC). The TDC, located on the Morongo Indian Reservation, provides software and technology services that would typically be outsourced to offshore technology centers and brings this work onshore.

"The partnership with our tribal nation is critical to not only diversifying business opportunities for the region, but at the same time bringing forward necessary jobs," said Assemblymember Garcia, who serves as chair of the State Assembly's committee overseeing jobs and economic development and represents Eastern Riverside and Imperial Counties. He added, "Partnering with the tribal nation is critical. The state economic growth, especially in Imperial County, which has 21 percent unemployment, is significant." Garcia emphasized that, "Anytime an area like Riverside County can attract high-tech jobs tha would normally go to Silicon Valley, we hit a home run and facilitate that growth of the high tech industry here in the Southern California."

Welcoming Osceola, Morongo Tribal Chairman Martin stated, "We're delighted that they are bringing new high-tech jobs to our region, and obviously it's always gratifying for our tribe to provide support to Native American-owned ventures." He added that "We're pleased to see that Osceola celebrates its heritage and that it maintains a commitment to diversity and economic development."

"The Company's unique business model enables it to retain and develop high technology jobs onshore that can effectively complement offshore outsourcing," according to Narcomey, a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, "by creating operational efficiencies locally, as well as access to near-shore diverse supplier capability for competitive differentiation, lower cost of services, reduced delivery risk and enhanced corporate social responsibility."

"Our business model also provides for career opportunities in technology and business, both for tribal areas and other disadvantaged communities," Narcomey said, adding "we are planning to work with local workforce development programs and educational institutions to develop training opportunities."

Narcomey concluded by thanking the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, as well as Osceola clients San Diego Gas & Electric Company, Southern California Gas Company and Pacific Gas & Electric Company for their willingness to support Osceola's innovative TDC business model. Representatives from several of these organizations also made remarks.
