Orbo.ai is on a winning spree, so far having won RingAi, a Japanese AI research arm's challenge followed by winning ChinaSV, a global competition held by Tianjin Govt. of China. Apart from winning these accolades, Orbo will receive government grants, an opportunity to connect with local businesses in these respective countries as well as preferential policies on visas, setting up subsidiaries, additional research grants, and local investment support.

As China witnesses a higher economic status in the world and broadens its global strategy with its AI initiative, the country needs more foreign talent than ever. It is aiming to establish a two-way flow of high-end talent, high-quality AI projects, cutting-edge technology, international capital and other resources through the connection between China and knowledge-driven countries but mostly with Silicon Valley, so that the best practices in AI and the best innovation makes its way to China.

This was the context of the Global Entrepreneurship Competition (ChinaSV) which recently ended after 114 days and rigorous 6 rounds of assessment organized by Tianjin Municipality and Tianjin Pratt & Whitney Technology Incubator Co. Ltd. and other government units. The competition also saw 740 top startups from the U.S., China, and Israel. Orbo was the only Indian startup that was invited to this competition. The competition wtnessed the birth of 3 award winning projects ranging from (Transformative Camera AI - Orbo.ai, regenerative medicine - Regesi  and blockchain-based cybersecurity - Ink Cloud).

"These victories provide global perspective on startup vetting process and it validates the vision of the startup," said Manoj Shinde, Founder of Orbo.

The growth of AI and Camera

Over the next five years, there will be a proliferation of cameras integrated into products across industries and markets. A paradigm shift will take place in the meaning and use of a camera. The entire visual technology ecosystem is driving and driven by the integration of cameras and visual data. Visual technologies are any technologies that capture, analyses, filter, display or distribute visual data for businesses or consumers. They typically leverage computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Building Research and IP

"While building AI solutions can be a painstaking process where you and your AI scientists could spend hours, days and months to get that one array of hope in the form of results. Along with the need for computer vision and AI, resources are ever-increasing and supplies are almost below par. With all those constraints, Orbo has successfully assembled a great research team that has built a significant IP in record time which is globally comparable," said Abhit Sinha and Danish Jamil, the dynamic AI scientists at Orbo.

AI Race and Countries in the mix

Manoj Shinde, said, "While countries like China are taking a leap ahead in AI, top cities in other countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, and the UK are also actively searching for AI startups or talent to bring it to their country, including from India but the local scene here in India is somewhat different and thus we have lagged behind in investment and promoting AI startups. Applied AI is not the true AI and of course not a game changer that will allow you to gain a substantial leadership position in the AI race. Research and IP driven startups provide big collateral as well as umpteen opportunities for investor exits."
