Ontario, Canada Connects Graduate Students to Industry R&D

Ontario, Canada is helping to connect graduate students with internship
opportunities to grow the province's knowledge-based economy and create
The Ontario government is extending support to the Mitacs
Accelerate program, which connects graduate students and
post-doctoral fellows with applied research opportunities at companies
across Ontario. This will help provide about 1,400 four-month
internships to Ontario graduate students over two years.

Ontario is providing $8.4 million over two years to the Mitacs
Since 2008, government investments of more than $20 million have
created 1,650 internships for graduate students in Ontario.
Ontario increased graduate enrollment by 57 per cent between 2002-03
Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that promotes
research and innovation by building links between industry and
