Online tool keeps eye on competitors [Newcastle Journal (England)]
(Newcastle Journal (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A WEB-BASED tool that gives e-tailers up-the-minute market intelligence has been created by an ambitious North East graduate.
James Mishreki's Competitor Monitor lets online retailers track the price of their products in comparison with others on the market.
The service allows easy analysis of market data that could not be generated manually.
The Northumbria University graduate said: "The launch of my own business is naturally very exciting and I am thrilled our product is now on the market for firms to benefit from.
"It is empowering companies to become more proactive in protecting their brand, being more competitive and finding market opportunities."
The 25-year-old from Durham said several clients were using the software and most had experienced a direct increase in sales or margin.
Mishreki added: "We have already had significant interest from several blue-chip companies keen to trial the software to help them get a better idea of their market positioning without the hassle of time-consuming manual checking."
He also revealed other product developments were in the pipeline "that will allow companies to closely monitor competitor brands online and provide vital business intelligence in a quick, hassle- free, cost-effective manner".
Among the clients using the Competitor Monitor software is Aston- Parts.com, part of County Durham's Aston Workshop which has a worldwide reputation for restoring classic Aston Martin cars.
Its head of marketing Dean Newsome said: "In a very short space of time, we've already gained a great deal out of this excellent online tool."
