NTT America Launches Consultancy Service to Address Mandatory IPv6 Adoption

NEW YORK, May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- NTT America, a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, today announced the launch of the NTT Communications IPv6 Consultancy in conjunction with the Federal IPv6 Summit taking place in Reston, Virginia from May 17 - 19, 2006. The IPv6 Consultancy will provide counsel and assistance to enterprises and federal agencies for the U.S. government's mandated upgrade to an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).

As the deadline for federal agencies to upgrade their existing IPv4 standards to IPv6 rapidly approaches, these organizations face significant challenges in order to meet these goals. The NTT Communications IPv6 Consultancy facilitates a customer's transition to an IPv6 network, without disruption to their core business. By working in tandem with a customer's network operators and application development teams, the Consultancy provides project management services and operations and deployment training.
"Our industry leading, worldwide IPv6 technologies and extensive experience allow us to provide a critical, added value service to our clients as they make this transition to an upgraded network," said Kazuhiro Gomi, Vice President, Global IP Network Business Unit, NTT America, Inc. "The mandated transition to IPv6 represents a significant undertaking for our federal enterprise and network customers, and we created the IPv6 Consultancy to ensure they are able to complete the upgrade using the most timely and efficient approach."
As a Gold Level sponsor of the Federal IPv6 Summit, NTT Communications' Global IP Network (GIN) business unit will be exhibiting and providing on-site demonstrations of its current and future IPv6 technologies and services at booth #11 from May 18 - 19, 2006. Additionally, Stan Barber, Vice President of Engineering Operations, Global IP Network Services at NTT Communications, will be presenting on the topic of "Lowering the Impact of an IPv6 Transition" on May 18th at 3:40 pm.
The Federal IPv6 Summit provides a platform for senior political and military leaders, ISPs and IT executives to discuss the impact of the IPv6 upgrade, including the benefit to the federal government, the transition's process and roles of industry leaders. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, Virginia.
