NOW, ONLINE BIAS MAY HURT ROLLOUT OF IPHONE 6 IN INDIA(Indian Business Insight Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mobile phone retailers are unhappy that the iPhone 5S is being offered at heavily discounted prices on e-commerce sites Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. They have threatened to boycott Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models after their expected pre-Diwali launch. Around 1.5 lakh retailers claimed they have returned their iPhone 5S models because they cannot compete with the discounts, which have lowered the price of the device to less than their cost. Offline sellers have been adversely affected as customers are increasingly going online. The 16 gigabyte iPhone 5S is available on Amazon for Rs33,999 compared to the original price of Rs53,500. |
