MCLEAN, Va., April 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Novetta, a leader in advanced analytics technology, today announced that Vice President of Special Projects, Michael Thieme, has been appointed Editor of ISO/IEC 30107-4 – Biometric presentation attack detection – Profile for evaluation of mobile devices.

This performance testing standard, under development in ISO/IEC JTC1, will address spoofing and presentation attacks against mobile devices such as iPhones and Android smartphones.

The ability to detect fake fingerprints, video replays, and voice recordings is a significant concern to commercial and government agencies who rely on mobile device authentication for transactions and identity confirmation. As more advanced threats emerge, the biometric industry needs reliable method for testing smart phone attacks and countermeasures.
