Norwegian Opera Software signs contract with semiconductor firm
Nov 18, 2009 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
18 November 2009 - Norwegian web browser technology developer Opera
Software ASA (OSL: OPERA) said Wednesday
it will deliver a number of products to a leading semiconductor company.
The client will be distributing Opera Devices Software Development Kit
(SDK), Opera Mobile, Opera Mini, Opera Turbo and Opera Widgets on its
various platforms.
The agreement is based on licence, maintenance and development fees.
"It (the customer) is taking almost our whole portfolio in use,"
spokesman Tor Odland told the IT section of the online edition of
Norwegian business daily Dagens Naeringsliv (DN), Dagensit.no.
Odland did not wish to be more specific about the customer's operations
besides that such semiconductor makers today often store solutions on
the semiconductors as well.
He said that Opera has since previously cooperated with semiconductor
makers such as Qualcom, Intel and Nvidia.
Earlier this week, Opera Software said it slipped to a pretax loss of
NOK16m in the third quarter of 2009, from a pretax profit of NOK47m a
year earlier. Third-quarter revenue rose to NOK135m from NOK125m.
