Northwest Airlines: Northwest Airlines Announces 12th Year for
Holiday; Fare Sale Fares start at $49+ each way

EAGAN, Minn. - Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) today announced a Holiday
Fare Sale offering travelers attractive airfares during the upcoming
holiday season for travel throughout the continental 48 United States
and between the continental 48 states and Canada.
This is the 12th year for this annual sale.
Tickets at Northwest's Holiday Sale prices are available for purchase
until November 26, 2008. Travel is valid Nov. 20, 2008, to December 3,
2008, and Dec. 17, 2008, to January 5, 2009.
Holiday Sale fare examples shown below include the deepest discounts on
Super Off-Peak Days being offered on select dates from Nov. 15, 2007,
through Jan. 7, 2008.

Purchase Requirements: A ticket purchased through Northwest's U.S.
Reservation call centers will be $20 higher than the advertised fare
and a ticket purchased at a Northwest airport location in the U.S. or
Canada will be $35 USD/CAD higher. These charges will be included in
the fare quoted to you. A 14-day advance purchase is required.
Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making reservations or per
advance purchase requirements, whichever comes first, but no later than
November 26, 2008. Travel Dates: Travel is valid November 20, 2008,
through January 5, 2009. Travel Days: Super-off peak days are November
24, 27 and 28, 2008, and December 3 and 24, 2008. Off-peak days are
November 20-23 and 25, 2008, December 2, 17-19, 25, 30 and 31, 2008,
and January 1, 4 and 5, 2009. Peak days are November 26 and 29, 2008,
December 21-23 and 26-29, 2008, and January 2 and 3, 2009.
Blackout Dates: Sale fares are not available on November 30, 2008, and
December 1 and 20, 2008. Minimum Stay: Most fares require a 3-day
minimum stay with holiday exceptions. Stopovers: Not permitted.
Upgrades: Not permitted except WorldPerks Elite and Elite companion
upgrades. Additional Taxes/Fees: Fares shown are in USD and do not
include Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 roundtrip and a
September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 roundtrip. For travel within
the U.S.: Fares do not include U.S. segment taxes of up to $3.50 USD
per flown segment. A flown segment is defined as one take-off and
landing. For travel from U.S. 48 to Canada: Fares do not include U.S.
segment taxes of up to $3.50 USD per flown segment, U.S. immigration
fee of $7 USD, Air Travelers Security Charge of up to $24 CAD and
Canada airport improvement fee of up to $20 CAD. A $15 USD fee for the
first piece of checked luggage and $25 USD fee for a second piece of
checked luggage may be assessed. Fees are charged each-way. Any of the
charges set forth above are subject to change without notice. Changes
to Itinerary: Changes may be made for a $150 administrative service fee.
However, any change must meet the conditions of the new fare purchased.
Other Conditions: Tickets are nonrefundable. Seats are limited and may
not be available.
Fares are subject to change.

Mesaba, Compass, Horizon, Continental or Delta Airlines. Fares may not
