NFL's Green Bay Packers choose Windstream to provide voice, data, and business continuity services

GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 19, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Windstream (NASDAQ:WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications, has been selected by the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers to deliver IP voice, data, and diversity solutions utilizing Windstream’s On-Net, Gigabit Ethernet fiber access connections to historic Lambeau Field and the franchise’s business and telemarketing offices in Green Bay.

The fiber connection to Lambeau Field will ensure that the Packers’ coaches, players, front-office executives and fans have reliable, high-speed internet connectivity every day, including game days. Additionally, Windstream is providing high-speed, point-to-point fiber connections to the Packers’ business office located several miles from the stadium.

“Windstream’s point-to-point fiber connection to our business offices will ensure that we have a highly reliable, fault-tolerant connection for our call center operations that also allows us to utilize Windstream’s Direct Trunk Overflow (DTO) service for business continuity,” said Kenny Ansel, assistant director of IT, Green Bay Packers. “Additionally, we are excited to offer additional high-speed, highly reliable internet connectivity to our employees and fans at the most historic stadium in the National Football League.”

“When we teamed with the Green Bay Packers, we immediately understood the vital role that network uptime played for the franchise,” said Joe Harding, executive vice president and enterprise chief marketing officer at Windstream. “The Packers' requirements were unique, and they needed a solution that combined highly reliable services with scalable and flexible infrastructure. The Windstream team prides itself on delivering custom solutions, and this is just another example of our willingness to invest capital to extend our fiber network to meet the needs of our customers."

The Atlanta Falcons selected Windstream to deliver customized cloud and networking solutions that allow the franchise to migrate its critical data from onsite infrastructure to a secure cloud solution while increasing the speed and security of its data networks.
