NextLabs Announces Global Reseller Agreement with SAP

SAN MATEO, Calif., April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NextLabs®, Inc. (www.nextlabs.com), an SAP partner and leading provider of policy-driven information risk management software for large enterprises, announced today the signing of a global reseller agreement with SAP. As part of the agreement, SAP will re-sell NextLabs solutions to extend SAP® solutions for governance, risk and compliance (SAP solutions for GRC) and the SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS®) application with attribute-based dynamic authorization and technical data export compliance. The NextLabs solutions will be offered by SAP as solution extensions under the names SAP Dynamic Authorization Management application by NextLabs and SAP Technical Data Export Compliance application by NextLabs.

One of the unique capabilities of the NextLabs solutions is the use of Attribute Based Access Controls (ABAC). Leading analyst firms, including Gartner and Kuppinger Cole, are expecting a significant rise of ABAC adoption of up to 70% over the next several years. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is also promoting Attribute Based Access Control as the future direction for access control and recommends that government agencies adopt this technology to mitigate their security risk.  ABAC protects data directly by analyzing attributes collected dynamically at the point of access, including data classification, user and device information, and even context (such as location). This capability enables enterprises to enforce the most up to date access controls providing increased data security while improving collaboration.  NextLabs' unique solutions integrate access control policies directly into SAP applications - automatically identifying, classifying, auditing, and controlling access to all sensitive data.

Keng Lim, CEO of NextLabs, states, "We are excited to introduce SAP customers to the unique benefits of dynamic authorization and data entitlement solutions as part of the SAP solution suite. NextLabs brings valuable expertise in working with some of the largest global enterprises to secure their critical information assets with an innovative, attribute-based policy system using dynamic authorization and advanced data protection technology. These solutions have enabled our customers to secure information needed for global collaboration, accelerate global ERP consolidation, and achieve compliance with export control and other data-sharing regulations."

SAP Dynamic Authorization Management works with the SAP Access Control application as the attribute souce for data access and usage. It enables customers to manage business authorizations with policy-driven control over data access and usage, which can lead to accelerated global consolidation that protects intellectual property in global collaboration, improves regulatory compliance, and enhances data and cyber security.

SAP Technical Data Export Compliance works with SAP GTS to manage the export of technical data. Together they provide an end-to-end solution for export compliance, addressing the export of physical goods, digital goods and technical data. This helps automate global trade compliance by actively preventing violations, tracks and audits the export of physical goods, digital goods and technical data, and lowers the compliance costs associated with various export control regulations.

"NextLabs is a long-time, trusted SAP partner with years of deep experience helping global SAP customers protect their sensitive information and intellectual property from theft and misuse," said Kevin McCollom, global vice president and general manager, Governance, Risk and Compliance Solution Portfolio, SAP. "NextLabs solutions now offered by SAP as solution extensions will complement SAP solutions for GRC and SAP GTS, allowing SAP customers to more flexibly, rapidly and cost-effectively secure their mission-critical information assets."

Both SAP Dynamic Authorization Management and SAP Technical Data Export Compliance are now available globally from SAP, backed by a suite of solutions that automate mitigation of information risk and safeguard information sharing across enterprise applications, cloud, endpoints, and mobile devices. SAP offers them as solution extensions by NextLabs. SAP Solution Extensions are developed by independent software vendors to integrate with SAP software and complement SAP solution capabilities. SAP premium-qualifies, tests, validates, approves, markets, sells and supports these solutions.
