New GPS Tracking of Passenger Ferries

CATALINA-MARINA DEL REY FLYER, operating
luxury scheduled passenger ferry service from Fisherman's Village in Marina
Del Rey (near LAX) to Catalina Island, has installed automatic GPS tracking
of all passenger ferries leaving Marina Del Rey.

We are excited to announce this new and important feature of our passenger
ferry service. The new GPS Tracking system allows our office staff, both
in Marina Del Rey and Avalon, to track each ferry from the time it leaves
Marina Del Rey until it returns to our dock, and provides location updates
every 30 seconds that can be viewed on any computer (see photo).

With the implementation of this new technology our office staff can
instantly give passengers an answer to questions about arrival times or
delays. It also provides an extra measure of safety for our passengers in
that we can monitor the location of the boats at all times and detect any
unusual circumstances. We want our passenger's trip to Catalina to be a
safe and predictable journey, and this new technology will help accomplish
that goal.
