New approach to online passwords ; WHAT'S ON THE WEB [Newcastle Journal (England)]

(Newcastle Journal (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DOES trying to remember all your online passwords stress you out? Me too. But here's some good news. Research from Microsoft has confirmed remembering a long list of unique passwords is officially "an impossible task", so they're advising a new approach.

Instead of trying to come up with a range of different iron-clad options, they recommend users only pick super-strength unique passwords for the sites that really need them, like internet banking. For all other sites, split them into low, medium or high security and allocate one password to each group. Previously, reusing passwords wasn't recommended, but this way you can focus your brain power on the logins that matter, making your password arsenal safer overall.
